Stick through the Hard Times to find the Good

Hola

This week was pretty difficult for Elder May and I. A veces we were a little down but we put our faith in the Lord and in the end the weekend turned out really good! This week we were supposed to have a baptism but it didn´t happen like we were hoping. This Thursday we went to the capilla with the Zone Leaders for the entrevista of Hno Julio Cesar. We got to the capilla and waited and waited and waited for like 45 minutes and the Hno never came. We tried to call him and everything but he turned off his celephone. Honestly Elder May and I were a poco desanimados. It was so hard to see that he had just ignored us and didn´t come to the entrevista. Aparte de eso this week we had like 15 citas that canceled with us. We spent a lot of time contacting this week and we didn´t find many people that were interested either. It was just a rough week that I know we had for a reason. Everything happens for a reason and was a testament to me that even through the hard we need to push through and the blessings will come. We saw that this week when Saturday we recieved a call from Hno Julio Cesar apologizing for not going to the entrevista and that he still wanted to be baptized. We told him that it was alright and have plans for his baptism this Saturday. This week we are really going to keep in contact with him and make sure that the same thing doesn´t happen to us again. I am super excited for it especially since cambios are this next Monday and there is a chance I could be leaving here in Polanco. I really don´t want to leave though, Elder May and I have the area back up finally and are planning to baptize at least 4 more people the next cycle. We will see though. We all saw blessings yesterday en la capilla. We were not expecting many investigators in the capilla but we had 8 investigators in the capilla. It was so awesome to see and that one family showed up to the capilla interested in knowing more about the Gospel! It is so awesome when you find a whole family that is interested in this Gospel. The mission is hard but this week really taught me the importance of facing our challenges and how much they are there to benefit us not to destroy us. One of my favorite scriptures of this is in Mormon 9:31

I love this scripture a ton. If you replace the word imperfeccion with desafio o prueba it hits me hard. These challenges are for our benefit and we can be strengthened as a person through them. Our faith will not grow without the challenges. Don´t look at our dificultades as something bad instead kniow that after something awesome is going to follow. I love this Gospel and all the happiness it brings to us!!

This week President Mann has asked all the misioneros in this mission to capacitar a los miembros. The wards here are hard to work with sometimes and President wants that we show them how much of a missionary they can really be! Honestly it is so true, the members make the obra misional mas fácil. As members of the Church we can really have an impact on other people we just need to look out and find those that are in need. There is always an opportunity to preach the Gospel. Don´t have fear! It is awesome and you will feel so good after because we are only the teachers, the Spirit is what is going to touch their hearts! Don´t be afraid to Preach the Gospel, you will see many blessings come from doing it!

This week I have played some Bean Boozled with some misioneros aca en Mexico. It is hilarious to see their faces when they find out that it isn´t something that tastes good. This week I played it with a family for a family evening. Haha the family has already bought their own bean boozled and are showing other families. The people here are honestly so awesome and it is so awesome to be around them. Today Elder May and I went to a place called Parque Pueblo to play basketball and hangout with other missionaries for Pday. It was a good time especially because I saw some of my buddies from the CCM who I haven´t seen since I got here haha. Yes the mission is hard but I know that this is where I need to be and I love it here! I have already learned so much and have so more much to learn! I am so excited for the baptism this week and we will see what happens with cambios this next Monday coming up! Hope you guys have a good week!
