Bye to Polanco and Hi to Volcanes

Hola

This week was super awesome honestly. I don´t have a lot of time to talk today so this email is going to be short. This week we had the baptism of Kevin Martinez and there couldn´t be a better way to finish my time in Polanco than baptizing Kevin. After months of work with him and hearing him say after his baptism that he wants to serve a mission made me so happy! He is one of my best friends and I was so glad to have the chance to baptize him! Well on Saturday I got the news that I would be headed out of Polanco and headed to serve the Lord in another area. The end of this week was spent saying bye to families in Polanco and mis conversos that I will remember forever. Yes it was super hard to say bye especially after 6 months in Polanco but the Lord needed me here in another area. Now I am in barrio Volcanes with Elder Garcia. He is from Utah and I am looking forward to working with him. Presidente has asked me to be District Leader as well here in Volcanes. I am looking forward to all this cycle can bring and I hope that Elder Garcia and I can find the fruits that the Lord has prepared here in Volcanes.

This week in Polanco Elder Santiago and I were working with our investigator Hno Francisco and he started off the leccion by telling us that he was no longer going to listen to us. El Hno has been progressing very well and it made us so sad to see that he was no longer going to listen to us because his wife was not going to let us in the house anymore and they were having problems. After he had told us that I felt the prompting to read the Book of Mormon with him but especially 3 Nefi 11 and as we were reading during the lesson the Hno read a verse over the baptism. He finished reading the verse and stopped and started to think. He looks up at us and says "being baptized is muy importante isn´t it?" We began to teach him about baptism and the things that are important to be baptized like el arrepentimiento y la fe and we challenged him to probar su fe and now he is continuing to listen to us and said that he would like to be baptized. This was just a testimony to me how much power el Libro de Mormon has in the lives here. The message that Jesus has for the nephites when he came here to the Americas is so powerful. I challenge you all to read 3 Nephi 11 and think about what you can better to follow the council that the Lord gives us in this chapter.

Well this week is going to be filled with getting to know this area and seeing what we can do to get better and help this area. I am grateful for this oportunidad to serve in this area even though it was hard saying bye to Polanco. Hope everything is well!
