This week was a long one for me. It was a long week of getting to know the área here in Volcanes and los miembros. Elder Garcia only has one ciclio aqui en Volcanes so he doesn´t know much of the area either so we are working together to know where everything is and where we can find more work. There is a little bit of work here in Volcanes but Elder Garcia and I have a lot of work to do this cycle. Honestly this week was filled with a little bit of frustration because this area is filled with cerradas. This area is more of pueblo kind of area so it isn't ciudad. My whole mission I have been in city and so it has definitely been taking some getting used to that is for sure. Well this area is basically locked in behind rejas well the houses are anyway so it is really hard to contact people. I got super frustrated this week just because people wouldn´t let us in the cerradas to talk with people or contact the houses. Contacting and talking with the people have been something that he desarrollado amar. Elder Garcia and I really focused on this week looking for new people to teach. Just coming from Polanco to here was a big change for me because I was used to having something to do every hour and a half and I know that we can get this area like that too with lots of work. We didn´t have much success with finding more people to teach but it is alright, I know that the Lord is preparing people but we haven´t found them yet. Something that Elder Garcia and I have done this week too in the comidas is to ask for referencias and to get to know the members better because the members have lost the confidence in the misioneros in this barrio. I really want to help that relationship between us and them to get stronger because that is where the work is going to come from.
I really like my zone here in Ixtapaluca, even though I feel like we are so far from everything haha. This week I have honestly felt like I am in a dream haha because it is wierd not seeing taxis or combis and it is super calm here. It has been a while that I have gone without hearing so much noise in the street haha. In my first lesson here in Volcanes with una investigadora se llama Maria Elena she saw us and like went to the other room. She kept yelling at us to go away and that she didn´t want to listen to us. Her husband acaba de fallecer hace un mes mas o menos. She is really having a hard time acepting it all and wants to be left alone by everyone. So we respected her decision and started talking with the rest of the family who is miembros and we started talking to them about the blessings of the gospel and the blessings that they have seen in their life when all of a sudden Maria Elena came around the corner crying and started to ask for our help. We began to talk to her about her esposo and that she will see him again but there are some things that she needs to do here on the Earth first. She listened to us and listened to us as we taught her El Plan de Salvacion and all the blessings that it brings in our lives when she made a random comment for when she can be baptized. It kind of threw Elder Garcia and I off guard but we started to talk to her and told her when she feels ready. The Espiritu was so strong in this moment and I felt that the Espiritu was touching her heart too. Vamos a seguir trabajando con ella para ver como es su progreso y en cuales maneras podemos ayudarla. Read the Book of Mormon, I promise that you will find your respuestas there and will feel of the Spirit because it is the word of God!
This week we had an actividad se llama Viaje a Hawaii con todo el estaca Ixtapaluca. We invited investigadores y miembros to join and it was so awesome! What happened in the actividad is the miembros and investigadores bought a ticket for the plane and the plane ends up falling and crashing and we take the members through the mundo de los espíritus and los reinos de gloria. It was such an awesome activity and was a testament to me and made me so motivated to work hard here in this life to achieve the reino celestial. I am so happy to be here as a misionero to help teach the families can be together forever and to help the families enter the waters of baptism and perseverar hasta el fin. I love being a missionary! Hope all is well with you guys and that you have a great week!
