I Ate Horse and a Baptism

Hola

This week was super awesome! Where do I start well this week I did divisiones with a new missionary se llama Elder Brandi from California. They went great as we went around looking for people and having our citas. I stayed here in Benito Juarez and thank goodness there are mapas or else I would have been lost. This week Elder Alamea and I have really been focusing on the Book Of Mormon because it really is the clave de nuestro religion. We gave ourselves the challenge to give a Book of Mormon out everyday this week and it went so well. Everywhere we went and with every person that we taught we talked about the Book of Mormon and the importance of it. This week has honestly helped me a lot with my testimony over the Book Of Mormon. Even with members we shared a message about the Book of Mormon and left homework to read a chapter from it. It was so awesome honestly to feel of the power of this book this week as we read as well continuing with our 90 days of reading. There was 2 scriptures this week that really stuck out to my attention was in Alma 7:23-24. It says:
This week I have thought a lot about the importance of our prayers and just our attitude in life. These scriptures say that we should always give thanks to our Heavenly Father evern if the day was hard or something really hard happened in our lives. This has helped me a lot in the mission to always try and to be grateful and always give thanks even when the times are hard. If we have faith, hope, and charity we will produce good works and help others to do the same. We should always be grateful for the things we have even the hardest times because those are what make us better people. This week we had a lesson with an investigator named Sochil and on Tuesday she told us that she wasn´t ready to get baptized even though we knew she was ready. We told her to pray about it and she said that she wanted to get baptized in 1 month but we told her that if she prayed the Lord will tell her what she should do. We got a call this week Thursday night that was her telling us that she wanted to be baptized this Saturday and it was so awesome I was so shocked but I knew that the Lord had given her an answer and she followed through with it. The service was great on Saturday Presidente Mann was there and the spirit was super strong. Elder Alamea and I were super happy, I was also super happy because Saturday a family in Polanco that Elder Santiago and I found when I was there got baptized. That made me super happy to hear honestly!!

This week we had Consejo de los Lideres de Zona and we talked a lot about the Book Of Mormon and our conversion here in the mission. As missionaries if we don´t have our conversion now than we won´t in the future. The mission is really what is going to shape my life from here and on. I really enjoyed the Consejo and learning what we can do to help oue zone right now. Tomorrow we have Zone Conference and I am super excited! Elder Alamea and I are going to alk about the comp study and the importance of it.

Well yesterday while I was listening to the talks in the sacrament meeting. Una Hna finished her talk and the first counselor stood up and said we will now here a talk from our new Elder, Elder McCain. I was caught off guard because I had no idea that I would be giving a talk and had not prepared anything. I look over Elder Alamea and he sees my face and just starts laughing so hard he almost fell out of his chair because he was laughing so hard and the members started to laugh because they knew that I had no idea that I was going to give a talk jajjaja. Well it went good I felt the spirit super strong during the time I gave a talk even though I didn´t have anything prepared. Turns out that one of the Hnos that they asked to give a talk didn´t show up so they chose me to give a talk and didn´t warn me at all jajajja. It was a great experience and the ward had a good laugh out of it jajaj. Elder Alamea and I are having a great time here in Benito Juarez.

Today for Pday well Elder Alamea recieved a package from his house with food. He prepared some quesadillas and also had me try HORSE. I didn´t think it was even possible to eat horse but it is and I had some and it was pretty good. At first it threw me off guard and my comp was laughing at my face but I enjoyed it. I can now say that I have tried horse in my life jjajaja. Hope you guys have a great week!
