Testimonio y Conversion

Hola

This week was really good. It was a long week of getting to know the members here and finding myself around. I really like it here in Benito Juarez and Elder Alamea and I have found lots of people this week that we are excited to visit this next week. I think the greatest part of this week was finding a family contacting that we had a good time with in the first cita. We got to know them and we taught the Restauracion and they took the lesson very well. We are hoping to see them go to church and keep progressing towards el bautismal. This week I also had the oportunidad to do divisiones with the Elderes in Polanco and I got to see my converts and visit some old investigators there. It felt super weird to be in Polanco again and working and looking and helping the misioneros with old investigators that I was teaching when I was in Polanco. I just love being a misionero and having the oportunidad to preach about this true Gospel and about the Book of Mormon. I can honestly tell that por medio these 90 dias in reading the Book of Mormon my testimony has strengthened and the best part is that everytime you read the more you understand. Honestly Abinadi just amazes me and his willigness to serve the Lord. Even though he was threatened in all forms he kept preaching and knew that the Gospel was true. I think that we all need to have this same attitude sometimes. There are many times that we are scared to share our standards or even stand up to others and that they are wrong. That is the best part though is knowing that we are in the true Church and if we follow the standards and stick up for what is right everything will be alright. Abinadi is an example to me because a veces no queremos decir no but it is necessary. Be Bold and Strong in your standards and the Lord will reward you for honoring them!

This week in the Consejo de Distrito we talked about the diferencia in un testimonio and conversion. A testimonio is to know that something is true and conversion is to live it everyday and share with others that they can see your example. There are many that say I have a testimony that this church is true but if they are not living it then they are not going to get anywhere. We have to ask ourselves sometimes if we are really living the gospel in our lives. Are we doing the things the Lord wants us to do to recieve the blessings that he has waiting for us. One example of living the gospel is Abinadi, he knew it was right and he kept strengthening his conversion by living it everyday and standing up for what he knew what is right even though they threatened him. If we are truly converted and believe that we are on the correct path then we have to live the gospel everyday so that others see the light shine through us. Like yesterday in Principios del Evangelio we talked about being honest and a way to know if we are honest is before lying to recognize that it is a lie and that it is bad. No one is perfect but we can be excellent and strive to follow the steps of Christ by living the Gospel that he left for us. I know that it is so true and you see the diferencia in the gente here that lives the Evangelio and the people that don´t. Be an example for all to see!!! Hope you have a great week!
