This week was really busy and I feel like a lot of things happened haha. Welcome to the mission. This week I would like to start of by saying that I ate at a CHINESE BUFFET this week. Back home there is a chinese buffet and I miss it to so much so when Fam Espejel told us that we are going to eat chinese food for comida, I was pretty excited. This week also with the Fam Espejel we had what is called Rosca. It is pan dulce but inside they have these little hard dolls that makes it a game that you can play with the family. You are supposed to go one at a time and cut into the bread and if the piece you cut has the doll then you have to buy tamales for the rest of the family. It is something they do every year and I thought it was pretty cool haha. It is a fun family tradition to do here. Something that I have learned here on the mission is how important the family is. The family is the central part of the Plan of Salvation. It was so hard leaving my family and it still is sometimes but to see and have the opportunity to help the relationship between family members here in Mexico, I am so grateful for. Something before the mission that I hadn´t thought was as important as I do now is giving. I love the opportunity I have to share this gospel because it is the true Church and Heavenly Father has a plan that is perfect for us to return with him because of his son Jesus Christ. The change that this gospel does for people is incredible and changes me and the way I look at people. Everyone is a Child of God and has potential. As missionaries we never give up on anyone or will we ever. I have dedicated two years of my life to allow others to have the opportunity to hear this Gospel. The reason I say opportunity is because our investigadores need a testimony for themselves, we can´t force this Gospel on anyone. Something I like to tell investigators at the end of a lesson especially with a Hna that after we taught her the Restauracion looked like she had may dudas. I told her Hna that we are young and we could lie to you, that the best way for her to know the truth is to ask Dios because he is never going to lie to us. The best thing we can do in this life is strengthen our faith and testimony and come closer to our Savior. This week was hard because both of our dates for baptism fell because they are struggling to progress but we found another Hno and he is awesome! He asked us to be baptized and was already ready haha but we are going to teach him the lessons and he needs to go to church.
This week I did divisiones with Elder Wallis from Arizona. It was good haha with two Gringos walking around the area we defintely stood out here in my area. As always we made pancakes in the morning, haha it is a tradition every time we do divisions. I started to go to the gym this week too which I am really excited about. I have been wanting to go since I left! I am feeling pretty good with my Spanish finally and feel like it gets better and better with the Lord´s help.
Today for Pday Elder May, Baldridge, Cruz, and I went to WALMART haha! Of course we took a picture because I haven´t seen Walmart since I left. It was so funny I have never seen someone as excited as Elder Baldridge was to go to Walmart and he just got in the mission haha. He went on a shopping spree ahah! It was a good week and I hope that you guys had a good week!
