This week was pretty good. We are continuing to find more investigators to teach and working on getting them to the capilla. That is the biggest challenge here in Barrio Polanco. This week all 3 of our fechas fell because they did not make it to the capilla yesterday. This was really hard for me as I truly care about my investigators and would love to see what the Gospel is going to do to their lives but it is hard because it seems like something always comes up Sundays for our investigators. This really frustrated me yesterday and really bothered me because Elder May and I are working so hard but we are not having success in getting our investigators to the capilla. I talked to Elder May about it because he has a lot of experience here in the mission and has taught me show much here in this cycle. He kind of noticed that I was down and a little frustrated and told me something that really stuck out to me. He told me that in every area that he has been in that he has had to find his purpose in that area. What is really good is yesterday in the capilla we had 4 families that have been inactive for over 5 years or more that came to the capilla. The attendance to the capilla yesterday was over 150 people. I was talking to an Hermana in the ward and she told me that the ward hasn´t had that many people in the capilla in a long time. That is something else that Elder May told me too is to look at the brightside is that we had the menos activos in the capilla. He told me that he believes our purpose right now is to activate and after the investigadores will come. I had never thought of it that way but it really stuck out to me. Yeah we are going to continue to work with investigators but we are going to work on activating menos activos too. I am not sure why but talking with Elder May really stuck out to me. I think that it can apply to real life too. God has sent us here on the Earth to learn and become stronger as a person, and when we try to hard or try to do more than we can that is when we are going to give up. That really has changed my whole attitude, yeah if we don´t have investigators I am going to push it to the side and think about what we can do better the next week and work with our Heavenly Father to help bring his investigadores to the capilla. Yes work hard but don´t stress out about things you can´t control or can´t do. Always work hard and strive to be better but don´t stress yourself out, do what you can and then from there the blessings will come. Yes I was very frustrated that we didn´t have any in the capilla but I am going to keep working and keep testifying and through the Lord I hope that they can realize the importance of this Gospel and going to the capilla. Find your purpose and do it. from there come the blessings.
This is the last week of the cycle! I really hope I stay here another cycle in Polanco but we will see. I have really enjoyed my time here with May and have learned so much from him. This cycle I have really felt that I have bettered a lot of things because of him. I really hope that we stay another cycle together. The Spanish gets better and better every day! Yes it can be frustrating sometimes, but you got to keep pushing on and put your faith in the Lord.
Today for Pday I had a blast! We went to Centro, Elder May, Elder Tristan, Elder Wallis, and I. We had a blast walking around the sites and we did a tour on bikes around the City. It was bien padre I am not going to lie. I had a really good time. Yes the mission can be hard at sometimes but I am having sucha good time! The Lord´s work is real and it is awesome! I hope that you guys have a good week!
