This week was a really good one, preparing for a lots of things to come up such as Christmas Party´s and Ilumina el Mundo. Elder Alamea and I have really been working hard to find menos activos and we had a lot of success with that last week as we found a lot of familias PF. There is nothing greater than finding a family that can be prepared to reach that aguas del bautismo. This week was really good, we did some divisiones with some Elderes en la Zona and they went well. Elder Alamea and I are really trying to help the zone out because the Zona Oriental has really struggled lately. We are trying to get to know each and every one of the missionaries and help them to improve and at the same time they help us.
This week I got a surprise phone call that I was going to have the oportunidad to go back to Benito Juarez to baptize the Hno Martin who Elder Bentley and I had found when we were back there. The story behind the Hno Martin is another testament to me that really anyone can change but they just need the desire to do it. The first time we found the Hno Martin, we were just knocking doors looking for another investigador and we happened to knock his door. We asked him for the investigador when he came out but he told us that he did not live there and told us that he lived in another house. When the Hno Martin came out he was drunk and you could tell just looking at him, we began to contact him because one of the goals I put for myself is to just see everyone dressed in white and that everyone can progress if they have the desire. We took another cita out with him and I remember the day that the cita came I was not feeling well at all and was really considering going to the house to rest and to miss the cita with Martin. We decided to go to the cita and when we went he was drunk again. We felt the impresion to teach the Word of Wisdom right off the bat first leccion and after the leccion the Hno Martin completely stopped drinking. Right from the getgo he stopped and progressed super well. I always loved going with him because he always brought the Spirit and was doing everything we told him to. The last cita that Elder Bentley and I had with him he looked so sad and we asked him what was wrong and he told us that he went to the doctor and they told him that he had cancer and only has 4 months to live. I remember in this cita that my heart dropped but I think the Hno Martin took it better than us because he told us that he was going to push on and keep working to get baptized. Yesterday he was baptized and I got a phone call in the week that I was going to baptize him that he wanted me to do it. I was so happy to hear that and that I had the chance to do it on my birthday. I am so grateful for this work and the Hno Martin has strengthened me so much as a person and has really helped me to show that the life can be really hard but if we have desires we can do anything with the help of the Lord. I love this work so much!
Today was pretty awesome because I got to see the Hno Erick and the Hna Dulce from Polanco! They came and took us out to eat today for my birthday! I love the mission because these are relationships that I will never forget! Yesterday there was a family as well that made me a cake and sang to me. It was a good 20th birthday!
